It doesn't look like it, but this was the truck used in the "The Punisher" series

If you remember, in the series “The Punisher”, in addition to the famous KITT, there was another vehicle that was a regular presence in the episodes: the FLAG Mobile Unit , the “mobile garage” of Michael Knight's car.

Known in the "real world" as GMC General , this truck had the fate of many other reformed “film stars”: it was doomed to oblivion for many years.

Its discovery was only possible after hard and long research work by the group “Knight Riders Historians”, who then decided to tell the story of the entire search on their YouTube channel.

the deserved rest

The discovery of this GMC General (aka FLAG Mobile Unit) was only possible because the “Knight Riders Historians” had access to an old mainframe belonging to the company Vista Group, responsible for supplying vehicles to the television and movie studios.

After a difficult process of recovering the data contained in the obsolete mainframe, the group was able to discover data such as the year, brand, VIN and which productions many of the cars supplied by Vista Group were involved in.

One of those cars was the GMC General we told you about today, which was used in the third and fourth seasons of the series.

Discovered in 2016, it was only in 2019 that the group went to see the truck live, having bought it. When this was found, it was possible to confirm that it was the used truck thanks to the recovered data. This despite the black paint having given way to a more discreet blue color and the owner not even knowing about the old career of his vehicle!

With 230 thousand miles (approximately 370 thousand kilometers) accumulated after it was no longer used in the series, the GMC General was out of action for about 15 years, and its restoration is now planned so that it can once again appear as we saw it on television.

Now, all that remains is to find the trailer it was carrying, the only information available being that it was painted silver or white after the series and that in the mid-2000s it still existed.
