The fifth generation of the hardcore Clio, the Renault Clio RS , traditionally a responsibility of the competition division of the diamond brand, Renault Sport, will thus have the same engine that already equips the “big brother”, Mégane RS.
However, in the case of Clio RS, the 1.8 liters will debit “only” 225 hp , advances to Caradisiac. Remembering that, in the case of Mégane, the block offers 280 hp and 390 Nm, while, in Alpine, it amounts to 252 hp and 320 Nm.
If this information is confirmed, it will still be an important evolution for the small French B-segment, which currently has a 1.6 Turbo, delivering 220 hp of power and 260 Nm of torque.
When does the new Clio arrive?
Remember that the new Renault Clio is expected at the next Paris Motor Show, which takes place in October. Something that, if confirmed, could lead to the RS version being made known in the second half of 2019 - or, in the case of repeating the strategy of the last generation, which only arrived two years after the original model, in 2020 .
