Vin Diesel received as a birthday present a Dodge Charger… with more than 1600 hp

Known for playing the famous Dominic Toretto in the “Fast and Furious” saga, Vin Diesel is, like his character in the movies, a true petrolhead. Aware of that, the production team of the latest film in the saga, “Fast & Furious 9”, gave him a birthday gift, his 52nd, to live up to that passion — a Dodge Charger ‘Tantrum‘.

Creation of the American company SpeedKore Performance, we can see the moment when Vin Diesel received this impressive birthday present, having shared a video on the actor's Instagram account.

Interestingly, this same Dodge Charger 'Tantrum' had already made a brief appearance in the “Fast and Furious” saga, appearing in the background in a scene from the movie “The Fate of the Furious”. In addition, he was also the protagonist of an episode of Jay Leno ’s Garage.

The new Dodge Charger 'Tantrum' by Vin Diesel

Created by Speedkore Performance, Vin Diesel's latest car started its life in 1970 as a “simple” Dodge Charger. However, after having ended up in the hands of Speedkore Performance, it was transformed into one of the most exclusive (and powerful) examples of the famous American muscle car, a monster of power, taken to an extreme.

One of the 2015 SEMA stars — and multiple award winner — the Dodge Charger 'Tantrum', as it was dubbed, features a body entirely made of carbon fiber. However, its biggest decoy is under the bonnet. It's just that there we found a massive Mercury Marine Racing 9.0L V8 . Yes, this Dodge Charger ‘Tantrum’ has an engine originally designed for… a boat.

Coupled with this is a surprisingly, and hopefully, very durable Tremec T-56 six-speed manual gearbox. We say tough, because Mercury Marine Racing's 9.0 twin-turbo V8 delivers a not-so-tame 1672 hp — Vin Diesel's latest “toy” is a monster.

It's still rear wheel drive, where, intriguingly, the rear axle comes from… Ford. Truth be told, little or nothing is left of the original Dodge Charger…
