Luca de Meo's successor at the helm of SEAT is already selected and found “in the house”, with the chosen Wayne Griffiths, CEO and President of CUPRA and also Executive Vice President of Commercial of SEAT.
According to a statement released by SEAT, the new president of the Spanish brand will accumulate the new functions with those of CEO and President of CUPRA and, for the time being, with that of Executive Vice President of Commercial of the company.
Wayne Griffiths is scheduled to take office as president of SEAT on October 1st.
As for the current president, Carsten Isensee, he will continue as Executive Vice President of Finance and IT for SEAT. The position of Vice President of Production and Logistics at SEAT will be handed over to Herbert Steiner.

Linked to the Volkswagen Group since 1989, Wayne Griffiths' first stint at SEAT took place between 1991 and 1993. In 2016 he returned to the Spanish brand after several years at Audi and at SEAT he assumed the head of sales in 2016, occupying the position of Commercial Vice President of SEAT.

With you at the head of the commercial area, SEAT launched the biggest product offensive so far, and broke all sales records, with an increase of more than 40% in sales between 2016 and 2019.
In January 2019, Wayne Griffiths assumed the role of CEO of CUPRA and earlier this year was named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the brand of which he co-founded.
In addition to all this, Wayne Griffiths (whom we even had the opportunity to interview) was also one of the founders of the newly created SEAT MÓ.
