The new model will be based on the Seat Ibiza and is expected to be launched in 2017.

After the presentation of the Seat Ateca at the Geneva Motor Show – a model that marks the entry of the nuestros hermanos brand into the SUV segment – Seat is already looking to the future. For the third consecutive year, the Spanish brand registered growth in sales, and for this reason the launch of this new model is intended to reinforce the recent positive results.

The brand confirmed that it is already working on a smaller crossover based on the next-generation architecture of the Seat Ibiza. The new model, whose nomenclature is still unknown, should be produced in Martorell, Spain, as part of a variant of the MQB platform.

The next crossover will be positioned below the new Ateca and will have as closest rivals the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V, Ford Ecosport and Volkswagen's new compact SUV.
