Hell Machine. Hennessey took the McLaren 765LT to 1014 hp

When it was unveiled, the McLaren 765LT made sure not to go unnoticed, promising to exceed the bar — quite high, by the way — set by the McLaren 720S. No sooner said than done.

The latest element of the British brand's Longtail lineage perfectly combines the world of competition with that of public roads, achieving records that obliterate almost all its competition: accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8s, reaches 200 km /h in 7s and reaches a maximum speed of 330 km/h.

But because there are always those who want more, Hennessey, a well-known preparer based in Texas, in the United States, decided to give it even more power, not least because John Hennessey, the company's founder and director, believes that “the new 765LT is underestimated from factory".

The American preparer made the McLaren 765 LT even more aggressive.

The result is an even more impressive McLaren 765LT, capable of producing 1014 hp of power and delivering the 0 to 96 km/h acceleration exercise (equivalent to 60 mph) in just 2.1s. As for the top speed, and despite Hennessey not revealing it officially, it is estimated that this 765LT is now capable of reaching 346 km/h.

We tested it on our premises and it was delivering 775hp of power to the rear wheels. This means that it was actually producing close to 877 hp from the factory. Upgrading the 765LT to 1014 hp will bring acceleration from 0 to 60 mph [96 km/h] down to 2.1s, which is crazy.

Hennessey equipped the McLaren 765LT with an exhaust system with stainless steel piping.

To guarantee this increase in power, the Hennessey Performance team installed new air filters, a stainless steel exhaust system and a reprogramming of the engine's electronic control unit, which remains the 4.0 l twin-turbo V8 block that it equips. this factory model.

Visual has not changed

Hennessey's signature also makes itself felt in the image, albeit in a very subtle way. On the outside there is an emblem of the American company and inside the cabin there is a numbered plate that attests to the exclusivity of the model.

Numbered plaque on the inside, let's not forget that this is a very special 765LT.

We left the worst for last, the price. Is that Hennessey charges approximately 21 000 euros for the installation of this modification package, not to mention the more than 300 000 euros that McLaren asked each of the 765 lucky people who managed to secure this super sports car.
