The Jaguar Land Rover SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) customization division has just announced “the most powerful, agile and best performing Jaguar ever”: o Jaguar XE SV Project 8.
After a rigorous dynamic track testing program – at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, of course – the Jaguar sports superlaine will become the second Jaguar Land Rover Collectors' Edition model, joining the launched Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 in 2014.
Production will be limited to 300 copies, all assembled by hand at SVO's technical center in Coventry. For John Edwards, director of SVO, this is the perfect time for Jaguar Land Rover's customization division to focus on what he calls “extreme performance”:
“Our customers around the world have been delighted with F-TYPE Project 7. The new XE SV Project 8 takes aerodynamics and performance to another level, and is designed for enthusiasts and collectors alike. Therefore, the price for this extreme performance and limited production model will reflect that.”
As for the technical file, for now it is only known that the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will use the well-known supercharged 5.0 V8 block, with 600 hp of power . All the details will be unraveled in just over a month at the Goodwood Festival.
