New Volvo XC40 T2 arrives in Portugal and we already know how much it costs

the success of Volvo XC40 is indisputable and even seems somewhat immune to the crisis — sales of the Swedish compact SUV are growing in this very difficult year of 2020. For that success to last, the national range is now reinforced with a new entry version, the XC40 T2.

The XC40 T2 comes equipped with the same 1.5 l tri-cylinder and turbocharger, already known as the T3 version. But the T2 sees its power being reduced from 163 hp to the 129 hp , and the torque of 265 Nm for 245 nm . It is only available with front wheel drive and can be combined with either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic (torque converter) transmission.

Whether manual or automatic, acceleration to 100 km/h is done in 10.9s and top speed is… 180 km/h — the top speed of all Volvos starting this year.

In terms of consumption and CO2 emissions, the XC40 T2 has values of, respectively, 7.0-7.6 l/100 km and 158-173 g/km for the version with manual transmission. When equipped with the automatic transmission the values are, respectively, 7.3-7.9 l/100 km and 165-179 g/km.
