This is the new Toyota Corolla sedan… and also coming to Europe

Anonim

before the Toyota having decided to overhaul the Auris name, the Corolla was only sold on European soil in the sedan version, the three-volume, four-door saloon. Now that it is guaranteed that the name will return on the hatchback and on the van, Toyota also showed the new generation sedan.

The sedan version of the new Corolla uses the same platform as the hatchback and the estate, the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) — Toyota's global platform — and therefore features MacPherson front suspension and a new multilink rear suspension. This platform is even used by models like C-HR or Camry.

The interior is identical to the estate and hatchback. Thus, Toyota should offer the sedan with the same equipment as the other versions of the range, that is, equipment such as the 3-D Head-Up Display, the JBL premium audio system, wireless mobile phone charger or the tactile multimedia system Toyota Touch.

And engines?

For now, Toyota plans to sell the Corolla sedan with two engines in Europe: the well-known 1.8 l hybrid and a 1.6 l petrol. The hybrid version produces 122 hp and Toyota announces consumption of 4.3 l/100km and CO2 emissions of 98 g/km. The 1.6 l produces 132 hp and Toyota announces that it consumes 6.1 l/100km and emits 139 g/km of CO2.
