This Aston Martin Cygnet is on sale for 40 thousand euros. Is it a good deal?

Born in 2011 to enable Aston Martin to meet the EU's emission reduction target, the Aston Martin Cygnet fails to gather consensus in the automotive world.

This is largely due to the fact that the British city man is little more than a redesigned Toyota iQ. On the outside it had new headlights and taillights and, as you'd expect, the typical British brand grille.

Inside, the differences were limited to the use of nobler materials, a new instrument panel and very discreet alterations to the dashboard.

As for the mechanics, Aston Martin did not make any changes. This means that to liven up the Cygnet we continued to find a 1.3 l four-cylinder engine and 98 hp that was associated with a six-speed manual or CVT gearbox. The only exception was a Cygnet V8 whose story we've already told you.

However, the few differences compared to the Toyota iQ that served as its base and the price à la Aston Martin ended up helping to make the Cygnet a historic sales flop. Just to give you an idea, of the 4000 units originally planned, only 300 were produced!

Painted in Tungsten Silver, this Aston Martin Cygnet is, as you would expect in such an exclusive model, in immaculate condition. The interior finished in the color “Bitter Chocolate” with leather details ends up justifying part of its exclusivity.
