Citroën minivans abandon the Picasso designation

Although they are less and less frequent, it is a fact that Citroën still has in its range of minivan models such as the C4 Picasso. However, and although the brand may maintain the concept, the name Picasso will be discontinued, giving way to the SpaceTourer designation.

This will actually be one of the brand's novelties for the Geneva Motor Show, next March, where the brand will present a special and limited edition, called Citroën C4 SpaceTourer Rip Curl.

It seems to be the end of the Picasso designation, first introduced in 1999 with the Citroën Xsara Picasso, and which accompanied the brand in one of the best moments in recent times, before the SUV invasion, when MPVs meant high sales figures.

The only change of the new C4 SpaceTourer compared to the previous C4 Picasso, will be the name

According to the brand, the change is only due to a change in commercial strategy and a question of marketing, intending to give new life to a segment that is stagnant due to the SUV offer present in all segments and manufacturers.

SpaceTourer is not new

The name, however, is not an absolute novelty for the brand, which had already applied it not only to the passenger version of the Citroën Jumpy, but also to two concepts, the Hyphen Concept and the 4×4 E Concept.
