Paolo Stanzani (1936-2017): Lamborghini Miura creator passed away

Lamborghini laments the death of Paolo Stanzani, one of those responsible for transforming the tractor brand into a successful sports car brand.

Born on July 20, 1936, Paulo Stanzani graduated in mechanical engineering at the University of Bologna, at 25 years of age. Just 5 years after finishing the course, he was hired by Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.a.S, at a time when the brand produced models such as the 350 GT, 400 GT and Islero.

It was then that the young engineer, together with Giampaolo Dallara and designer Marcello Gandini, began working on a model that has marked the way super sports cars are designed and produced until today: the Lamborghini Miura.

More than 50 years later, the Lamborghini Miura continues to inspire the entire automotive industry. But the story goes on.

Just four years after joining the brand, Paolo Stanzani assumed the roles of general manager and technical director of the brand, replacing Giampaolo Dallara, launching models such as the Espada, Miura SV, Urraco and Jarama. But more importantly, he was the driving force behind the Lamborghini Countach.

Thank you Paulo Stanzani!
