Renovated Ford Focus "caught up". What news are you hiding?

The spy photos of the renovated Ford Focus show a prototype — an Active version van — picked up in northern Sweden during its winter tests. Despite its apparent advanced state of development, it is expected to be released only in late 2021, with some sources indicating early 2022.

Changes to the current model, as the screenshots show, should focus on front and back, precisely where the model's camouflage resides.

At the front, in addition to new bumpers, the Ford Focus is also expected to come with a new grille and new headlights, thinner than those of today. At the rear, you can expect intervention similar to the front, concentrating on the optics (new “core”) and bumpers.

It is not known, at the moment, if the update of the Ford Focus will also include the arrival of new engines, especially the hybrid ones. The C2 platform on which it is based may contain hybrid engines, as we can see from the Ford Kuga — also based on the C2 — which, in addition to offering a conventional hybrid proposal, also offers a plug-in hybrid (external charging).

Given Ford's recent commitment to electrifying its entire portfolio, which will culminate in Europe with a range made only of 100% electric models from 2030 onwards, it would be no wonder that the Ford Focus, one of its best-selling models in the “old continent”, saw its electrification reinforced beyond the current mild-hybrid versions and received new hybrid options identical to those of “brother” Kuga.
