Currently, there are few cars that do not have driving modes. From the usual Eco mode to Sport mode, there's a bit of everything, and when it comes to cars with (some) off-road skills like the Mercedes-Benz GLS , off-road modes are even available.
However, Mercedes-Benz decided to go further with the aid and decided to offer a new way of driving the new GLS. Designated Carwash Function , this is intended to help maneuver the (large) GLS in the normally tight spaces of automatic wash stations.
When this is activated, the suspension rises to the highest possible position (to reduce the lane width and allow washing the wheel arches), the exterior mirrors fold, the windows and the sunroof close automatically, the rain sensor is turned off and the climate control activates the air recirculation mode.
After eight seconds, the Carwash Function also triggers the 360° cameras to make the GLS easier to maneuver. All these functions are switched off automatically as soon as you exit the automatic wash and accelerate beyond 20 km/h.
