The Ford Fiesta factory in Cologne, Germany, produces a new Fiesta every 68 seconds, and has the capacity to produce a total of approximately 20,000 different Fiesta variants.

An everyday proof interior
Stains! Ford engineers wanted to ensure the new Fiesta's interior materials were resistant to damage and stains. From the heated leather steering wheel to the leather seats, all the resistance of the materials was tested with products and everyday situations, such as sun and hand protection creams, coffee spills, dirt from sports equipment and dyes caused by denim .
Color durability was tested using a weather simulator and analyzed with a spectrometer to ensure resistance to discoloration and weathering.
Banks tested to the limit
To ensure the lifelong comfort of the new Ford Fiesta, Ford created “robot buttocks” that sat about 25,000 times. In addition, the seat panels have undergone 60,000 test cycles to ensure wear resistance, while maintaining flexibility and comfort.
The benches were tested for 24 consecutive hours at a temperature of minus 24 degrees. The mats were also tested in Ford's renovated materials laboratory.
Quality control
Some of the body panels on the new Ford Fiesta are built using new production technology, which analyzes noise frequencies during the stamping process. This method can identify a component that does not meet Ford's quality standards even before it leaves the pressing machine.
No more scratches on the doors
The doors of the new Ford Fiesta now require 20% less effort to close due to improvements in the air extractors inside the car. Ford's Door Protection System includes invisible protectors at the ends of the doors that appear in a fraction of a second as soon as they are opened, in order to avoid damage to the paintwork and bodywork of the Fiesta and the cars parked beside it.
The capless Easy Fuel system, with an optimized fuel filler neck, not only reduces spillage, the mechanism prevents filling with the wrong fuel.

During the development of the new Ford Fiesta B&O PLAY Sound System, engineers spent a year listening to more than 5,000 songs. The new sound system has 675 watts, 10 speakers, an amplifier and a subwoofer, which together with the surround system provides a 360 degree stage experience.

A full range of new technologies enhance the Ford Fiesta's comfort, convenience and safety levels. Driving assistance technologies are supported by two cameras, three radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors that, together, can control 360 degrees around the vehicle and monitor the road up to a distance of 130 meters.

The Ford Fiesta's SYNC3 communication and entertainment system is supported by high definition floating touch screens measuring up to 8 inches, which contribute to a reduction of almost 50% in the number of buttons present in the center console.
Performance and Savings
The range of Euro 6 compliant petrol and diesel engines comprises the multi-award winning 1.0 EcoBoost engine, available in 100, 125 and 140 hp outputs with a six-speed manual or automatic with steering wheel paddles (only in the 100 hp version), and by the 1.5 TDCi three-cylinder block with 120 hp. The same block is also available in an 85 hp version. Any one of them with consumptions from 4.3 l/100 km.
Intelligent Regenerative Charging selectively activates the alternator and charges the battery when the vehicle is traveling in deceleration and during braking.
With a new suspension and Electronic Torque Vectoring system, cornering grip has been improved by 10% and braking distances by 8%, enhancing safety.
Price
The new Ford Fiesta is available in three- and five-door versions and prices start at €16,383 up to €24,928 for the Vignale version with the 120hp 1.5 TDCi block.
