A mysterious vehicle in tests that could envision a Ford Fiesta RS was sighted in Spain.
According to the photographs collected by our colleagues at World Car Fans, we have reason to believe that this will not only be the next version of the Ford Fiesta, but a new Ford Fiesta RS.The vehicle was considerably disguised, but it's hard not to notice the wide air vents, the robust intercooler and the lowered suspension. This high-performance model is expected to be launched with a more aggressive bodywork and larger wheels.

According to statements by the American brand earlier this year, a more powerful version of the Fiesta, based on the current chassis, was planned to position itself above the Ford Fiesta ST. So, should the Fiesta RS be confirmed, it is likely to be powered by a variant of the Fiesta ST's 1.6-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine, but with an output of at least 230 horsepower.
The latest rumors are also anticipating a six-speed all-wheel-drive manual gearbox, but the best thing is not to raise expectations too high – what's more, adopting an all-wheel drive system could raise the price too high. We can expect news from Ford at the end of next year.
