Cold Start. Piaggio Ape demonic is queen of snow drift

THE Piaggio Ape it practically needs no introduction. The best known of them all must be the Ape 50, an authentic mobile chicane, capable of reaching an incredible 38 km/h of top speed — with just a 50 cm3 cylinder, we couldn't ask for much more, could we?

There are more models and engines, culminating in a 435 cm3 Diesel, but pure performance are two words we'll never associate with Piaggio Ape… well, that's until we know this (apparent) Piaggio Ape.

Instead of the single and small cylinder, we found three, with 600 cm3 and a tubular chassis that would not clash with a kart cross. With a “real” suspension and larger wheels, we have a terrifying and spectacular machine for drifting on snow:
