After being presented at the last Geneva Motor Show in 2013, in concept form, Opel decided to make it a reality. This time the Opel Adam Rocks will be presented in its final version at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Compared to the other Adams, the Opel Adam Rocks has a more muscular appearance, being larger in height, width and with a novelty for star lovers: an all-electric canvas top style sunroof.

The chassis of the Opel Adam Rocks is 15mm taller compared to the conventional Adam, but the differences don't end there. Due to these modifications, the chassis of the Opel Adam Rocks underwent several suspension adjustments, with different shock absorbers and springs, accompanied also by a new suspension geometry on the rear axle and a specific adjustment in the steering.

This mini crossover, as Opel calls it, also has new 17-inch and 18-inch wheels that make the Opel Adam Rocks a mini model full of presence.

The side and lower protections on the bumpers are in anthracite plastic, and on the rear bumper the exhaust is protected by an aluminum section.

As is the hallmark of Adam, the Opel Adam Rocks maintains all possible color customization and the “canvas top” roof is no exception, being available in 3 different colors: black, cream “sweet coffee”, and pale oak.

The interior is common to the Adam, but on the Opel Adam Rocks, the seats and door panels are peanut colored.

Within the powertrain chapter, the Opel Adam Rocks will have all the blocks at its disposal, including the new 1.0 SIDI Ecotec three-cylinder turbo, with 90 and 115 horsepower. In the atmospheric offer of 4 cylinders the 1.2 blocks of 70 horsepower and the 1.4 blocks of 87 and 100 horsepower are available.

Like the other Adams, the Opel Adam Rocks can also receive the optional Intelilink system, which combines all infotainment systems. This system is compatible with Android and iOS based devices and connectivity can be established via USB or Bluethooth. BringGo, Stitcher and TuneIn navigation apps can be downloaded and controlled via the 7-inch touchscreen.

For iOS devices, integration with the Siri Eyes system allows full voice control, reading messages aloud and composing messages by dictating, while the driver's focus remains on the road.

Production is scheduled for August 2014 and it is the plant in Eisenach, Germany, which will take care of the initial orders.

A youthful proposal, different from the current offer in city dwellers and that will certainly mark a trend, with Opel's pioneering incursion into the world of mini crossovers.
