A couple of weight. Armindo Araújo, twice PWRC World Champion, four-time national Rally Champion and former WRC driver, and Carlos Vieira, National Speed Champion and current National Rally Champion, will defend the colors of Hyundai in the next CPR season.
The two drivers will compete at the wheel of the Hyundai i20 R5, a model born at Hyundai Motorsport's premises in Alzenau, Germany.
Armindo Araújo he says “very pleased to have the support of Hyundai Portugal in this return to competition and very motivated to drive the Hyundai i20 R5. We created an ambitious project and we are going to work towards the fight for victories and for the conquest of the absolute title of the Portuguese Rally Championship in 2018.”
Carlos Vieira states that “I am extremely proud to represent Hyundai. (…) I am very motivated and aware of the responsibility of defending Hyundai's colors in the CPR. I thank everyone who helped make this project viable, let's try to give back with victories.”

It's a project that has been in preparation for some time, we wanted to make sure we had the best conditions, teams and riders to win.”
In 2018, the CPR calendar will have 9 races, pilots being able to score in 8, from which they will choose the 7 best results.
2018 Portugal Rally Championship Calendar
In the next season, emphasis will be placed on the division between earth and asphalt and on the entry of Rally Amarante Baião, which will be disputed at the end of September. Most rallies will be run within five months.
The calendar has nine races, pilots being able to score in eight, of these, only the 7 best results will count for the championship.
