Callaway C21 AeroWagen, a Corvette shooting brake

Anonim

Callaway, famous for its vitamin-filled Chevrolet Corvette, is an American company that, in addition to preparing several models, provides engineering services and has its own competition department, based in Germany. It designed, among others and independently of Chevrolet, its own Corvette for GT3 championships.

After the release of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in 2013 (C7 generation), Callaway unveiled a proposal to convert the coupe to a shooting break. But we had to wait, and only now, in 2017, we are discovering the contours of the Corvette's extra volume, called the C21 AeroWagen.

The conversion is carried out using a kit, consisting of a series of carbon fiber panels and a glass with an integrated demister. As you can see, the end result turns out to be quite discreet, with the Corvette gaining a profile that we can accuse of having some similarities to a van.

If you were expecting a rival for the Ferrari FF or GTC4 Lusso, make a mistake, as the C21 AeroWagen still only has two seats. What the C21 AeroWagen gets, in addition to alternative styling, is luggage space and, according to Callaway, a reduction in drag values.

When there are no structural changes, the conversion is fully reversible. It also does not affect the functionality of opening the trunk lid, or even the use of the removable roof.

The conversion price to transform the Corvette into a C21 AeroWagen is $14990 (approximately 14 thousand euros), which includes a carbon fiber spoiler, called the AeroSpoiler.
