The new CX-5, Mazda's best-selling model in Europe, hits the market in the middle of next year.

Mazda started production of the new Mazda CX-5 yesterday at the factory in Ujina #2, near its headquarters in Hiroshima. Newly unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show, this compact SUV arrives in Japan in February 2017, before launching in the “old continent”.

Originally released in 2012, the CX-5 was the first of a new generation of models to sport the current KODO design language and SKYACTIV technologies. Its total production has since surpassed the 1 million-unit mark in April 2015, and today the Mazda CX-5 accounts for about a quarter of Mazda's annual sales volume.
