Like the smallest 500C, also the largest Fiat 500X , the crossover, gained an (almost) convertible version, called Sweet life , courtesy of the addition of a soft top, which was brought forward a few months ago with the release of the 500X Yachting, a special edition.
It's not a “pure” convertible like the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabrio, and the new soft top hood doesn't shrink as much as we see on the 500C either. It is only possible to fold the central part of the roof, with the tailgate remaining unchanged compared to the 500X.
Anyway, the new soft top opens in just 15 seconds, at the push of a button, and we can do it up to speeds of 100 km/h. By affecting only the central section of the roof, the luggage compartment capacity also remains identical to the other 500X.
The soft top hood of the new Fiat 500X Dolcevita is also available in three colors — black, gray and red — to better match the 10 colors available for the bodywork.
The 500 family, which includes this 500X, the iconic 500 and the 500L, received an update in early 2021, with the crossover range being restructured into three versions, Connect, Cross and Sport. All of them can be associated with this new semi-open Dolcevita variant.
Dolcevita Launch Edition and Yacht Club Capri, the special series
To celebrate the launch of the Fiat 500X Dolcevita, the Italian brand also presented two special series: the Dolcevita Launch Edition and the Yacht Club Capri.
The Fiat 500X Dolcevita Launch Edition stands out for its Gelato White body color, with chrome and brushed details on the front, bumpers, mirrors and also for the so-called silver “beauty line” that runs throughout the car's exterior. It also comes equipped with 18″ wheels detailed in blue.
Inside, the white Soft Touch seats, inspired by the world of sailing, stand out, as well as the white dashboard with chrome decorative elements on the gearshift knob, as well as specific mats.
The Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri was created with one of the most exclusive Italian Yacht Clubs, it is presented in a shade that imitates the sea, and the soft top hood is blue. A tone we can also find in the “beauty line” and 18″ alloy wheels.
The new Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri presents itself with the same finishes as the previous 500X Yachting.
Inside, like the Dolcevita Launch Edition, the Soft Touch seats of the Yacht Club Capri are in white and, optionally, we can have a wooden dashboard, inspired by the nautical world.
When does it arrive and how much does it cost?
Finally, the new Fiat 500X Dolcevita is available with all the engines currently existing in the range, namely, the Firefly petrol engines — 1.0 Turbo with 120 hp and 1.3 Turbo with 150 hp — and the Multijet (Diesel) with 1.3 l and 95 hp .
The new model is already available to order, but prices have not yet been advanced, except for the Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri, with prices starting at €30,869 for the 120 hp 1.0 Turbo.
