Bellissima… It's still hard to admit that for the Alfa Romeo Disco Steering Wheel Spyder could exist, an Alfa Romeo 8C Spider had to disappear.
The Disco Volante by Touring was unveiled in 2012 and its design referred to the 1900 C52 Disco Volante (flying saucer) competition prototypes that Alfa Romeo presented in 1952-53 based on its 1900 model.
We first got to know the coupé (from which eight units were produced), which was followed, in 2016, by the Disco Volante Spyder (seven units produced). Always based on the beautiful Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and Spider, respectively.
They shared the 4.7 l atmospheric V8 vocal with the 8C, the same one that powered the Maserati GranTurismo, which was provided by Ferrari. The maximum power was 450 hp and the transmission, as in the 8C and GranTurismo, was of the transaxle type (six-speed semi-automatic gearbox) to the rear wheels.

The Alfa Romeo Disco Volante Spyder by Touring is a laborious work with minimal attention to detail. It took 4000 hours of labor and six months to turn an 8C into a Disco Volante, with each of the 15 units to be individually specified.
The last of the Disco Volante Spyder by Touring
The latest of the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante Spyder by Touring which is now on sale by Auxie Treschmidt was ordered in this metallic red tone and the interior was coated in a combination of Alcantara and leather. In contrast, we have backstitching in a light tone and several elements in the same body color. This unit also adds a set of specific bags, a protective cover, tools and all manuals and books.
To date, it has only had one owner, who placed the original order. The odometer records only 3530 km.
How much does it cost? We do not know. But it will certainly be in the hundreds of thousands of euros.
