We are used to seeing drag races between the very fast (accelerating) electric Tesla and Porsche with combustion supersports. Well… this drag race is a little different and has brought together eight electric cars to race against each other – but eight of the most affordable and also slower….
Organized by TheEVox Network, a YouTube channel dedicated solely to electric mobility, this race brought together the Fiat 500, Honda e, Mazda MX-30, MINI Cooper SE, Peugeot e-208, Renault Zoe, Smart forfour and Volkswagen e-up! .
The eight rivals on the occasion (not all rivals in the market) have very different powers and weights: the Smart forfour is the least powerful with 82 hp and the lightest with 1200 kg, while the MINI Cooper S "kills it" with its 184 hp and the Mazda MX-30 “crushes it” with its 1645 kg.
Some results are predictable: the least powerful is the least fast and vice versa. But there are surprises in the final results of this race — take a look at the Fiat 500, for example…
