Third generation Citroën C3 reaches one million units produced

The third generation of the Citroën C3 has just surpassed the barrier of a million units built at the factory in Trnava, Slovakia.

Launched at the end of 2016, the C3 gave new impetus to the French brand and in 2020 it even managed to be the seventh best-selling car in the European market, even occupying a place in the Top 3 of the best-selling models in its segment in markets such as Portugal , Spain, France, Italy or Belgium.

This commercial success confirms the status of the C3 as Citroën's best seller, which has recently been updated, featuring the brand's new visual identity at the front — inspired by the theme launched by the CXperience concept — as well as more equipment (LED headlamps by series, offering enhanced driving assistance systems and new parking sensors), more comfort (new “Advanced Comfort” seats) and more personalization.

With a distinct look and strong personality, the Citroën C3 also offers freedom of customization — allowing you to mix bodywork and roof colors, as well as color packages for specific elements and roof graphics — that guarantee 97 different exterior combinations.

And this power of personalization is precisely reflected in its sales mix, which shows that 65% of orders included options with two-tone paint and 68% of sales included the French brand's famous side protectors, known as Airbumps, which in the most recent renovation of the C3 have also been redesigned.

It should be remembered that the Citroën C3 was originally launched in 2002 to replace the Saxo and, since then, it has already produced more than 4.5 million units.

To further celebrate this historic landmark of the Citroën C3, there's nothing better than watching (or reviewing) the video test of the latest version of the French utility vehicle, by the “hand” of Guilherme Costa.
