The plan is simple but ambitious: by 2021 between SEAT and CUPRA we will see six plug-in electric and hybrid models arrive. Now, to prove this bet, SEAT took to the Frankfurt Motor Show its first plug-in hybrid, the Tarraco FR PHEV.
With the arrival of this plug-in hybrid version, there are two firsts in the range of the model that serves as SEAT's flagship. The first is the arrival of the FR equipment level (with a sportier character), the second is, of course, the fact that it is the first model of the Spanish brand to use plug-in hybrid technology.
As far as FR is concerned, it brings new equipment (such as a new infotainment system with a 9.2” screen or the maneuver assistant with a trailer); wheel arch extensions, 19” wheels (can be 20” as an option), a new color and the interior also offers aluminum pedals and a new steering wheel and sports seats.
The technique of Tarraco FR PHEV
To animate the Tarraco FR PHEV we find not one, but two engines. One is a 1.4 l turbo petrol engine with 150 hp (110 kW) while the other is an electric motor with 116 hp (85 kW) which makes the SEAT Tarraco FR PHEV with a combined power of 245 hp (180 kW) and 400 Nm of maximum torque.

These numbers allow the plug-in hybrid version of Tarraco to be not only the most powerful but also the fastest in the range, fulfilling the 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4s and being able to reach 217 km/h.
Equipped with a 13 kWh battery, the Tarraco FR PHEV announces a electric autonomy of more than 50 km and CO2 emissions below 50 g/km (figures still provisional). Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show still as a showcar (or a “undercover” production model), the Tarraco FR PHEV hits the market during the next year.
