We start these new rubrics with the new Volvo XC40 . In its «Base Version», the Swedish SUV is equipped with a 1.5 l Turbo engine with 156 hp. With this engine the Volvo XC40 fulfills 0-100 km/h in 9.4 sec. and reaches 200km/h.
It is an in-line three-cylinder block, which is an absolute first in the Volvo range (exclusive to the 40 Series).
Outwardly, despite being the "basic version", it does not lack identity. The luminous LED signature, also known as the 'Hammer of Thor', is present on all versions of the Volvo XC40 — something that doesn't happen across the entire Volvo range. In terms of ground connections, we have generous 17-inch wheels equipped with high-profile tires that don't clash with the set.
Big absences abroad? The two-tone roof and a more extensive color palette.

Inside, we have as standard a 100% digital instrument panel and an infotainment system with a 9″ screen, induction charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The air conditioning system is semi-automatic — to have access to a bi-zone a/c you have to spend 555 euros. As for the upholstery, it's fabric in this version — leather upholstery costs €1722.

The big absences in this version whose price is 36 297 euros turn out to be Volvo's most advanced automatic transmission and driving support systems. Namely the Intellisafe Pro (1587 euros) with adaptive cruise control and the blind spot warning system (BLIS).
The good news is that the automatic emergency braking system is standard, as well as the lane maintenance assistant and hill start assistant.
