The eighth model to be “born” of the MFA II, the second generation of the platform for compact models of the Stuttgart brand, is the Mercedes-Benz GLB . It is yet another addition to the Star brand's growing SUV portfolio, and will position itself between the future GLA and the GLC.
Despite “fitting” in the segment of compact SUVs, the new GLB, allowing (optionally) to carry up to seven passengers, is not so compact, being only 22 mm shorter than the GLC, from the segment above.
This possibility of adding two passengers to the maximum capacity turns out to be somewhat limited, with the builder recommending the third row only for people up to 1.68 m tall.
Dispensing with this option, we naturally gain more space for cargo — the luggage compartment volume is 560 l, a value marginally higher (+ 10 l) than even the largest GLC. Value that can grow by 179 l, if we opt for the second row of seats with 14 cm of longitudinal sliding.

Engines
The new GLB arrives on the national market with five engines, three Diesel and two Otto; two seven-speed (7G-DCT) and eight-speed (8G-DCT) dual-clutch gearboxes; and with front-wheel and four-wheel drive versions (4MATIC).

- GLB 250 4MATIC — 2.0 l, four cylinders, turbo, 224 hp, 350 Nm, 8G-DCT

- GLB 220 d 4MATIC — 2.0 l, four cylinders, turbo, 190 hp, 400 Nm, 8G-DCT
Prices
The new Mercedes-Benz GLB arrives in our country next November, with the national range having in the GLB 180 d, front-wheel drive, the most accessible version with prices from 42 350 euros , with the GLB 220 d 4MATIC “closing” the range, with prices starting at 57 200 euros.
