Next generation Volvo XC60 arrives in 2017

Volvo is already working on the development of the second generation of the compact crossover.

Since its launch in 2008, the Volvo XC60 has been increasing the number of global sales every year. Faced with this success, the future generation of Volvo's compact SUV is expected to blend some of the lines of the current generation XC60 with Volvo's latest stylistic language, inaugurated in the 90 Series (V, S and XC).

As such, designer Jan Kamenistiak anticipated the Swedish brand and developed his own interpretation of what could be the new model's exterior design.

Unlike its “big brother”, the Volvo XC60 will not use the modular Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) platform, but the new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). Furthermore, although there is still no official confirmation, it is to be expected a reduction in weight and a range of exclusively four-cylinder engines for this second generation. We may have news this year at the Paris Salon, which takes place between the 1st and the 16th of October.
