Polestar announced an even more muscular version of the Volvo XC90 with a new 2-liter 4-cylinder Drive-E engine with 350hp.
For those unfamiliar, Polestar is to Volvo what Mercedes-Benz is to AMG and BMW to M Performance.
Polestar had already revealed its plans to upgrade the second generation Volvo XC90 and as promised, here we have it. Many turned up their noses when the model was presented with just 2 liters, but Polestar guarantees that this engine will be as powerful or more powerful than the 6-cylinder that ceases to function, making it not the most powerful version (as we found in the T8 hybrid engine from 407hp) but the sportiest, as Porsche did with the new Macan GTS.

Even though it's just a speculation there are already rumors about the specs. The engine that will be available will have 2 liters and 4 cylinders and will use a turbo and a compressor at the same time, being capable of delivering 350hp, together with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Let's not expect great performance from this model, as the Volvo XC90 Polestar will weigh over 2,000kg if we consider the 320hp T6 AWD version.
