BMW and Toyota united in building successor to Lexus LFA

Much ink has flowed over the joint venture between BMW and Toyota, but until today it was not clear what the intentions were. Apparently, they are preparing a successor to the Lexus LFA.

It won't be a true assumed successor, not least because the Lexus LFA is unique, a super sports car that leaves a positive mark in automotive history.

But it seems, according to a source on the Australian website Motoring, the two brands are preparing a hybrid supercar, which will have the 4.4 V8 engine from BMW and a hybrid from Toyota. It appears that Toyota will be testing the BMW i8, to assess whether its carbon fiber structure will be able to receive the new supercar that the brands are working in secret.

Regarding the carbon fiber chassis of the BMW i8, we must not forget that this will probably be one of the most advanced in automotive history. We remind our readers that BMW has a partnership with Boeing to exchange knowledge in the production of carbon fiber. We are not talking about partnerships made in the “café around the corner”, BMW has invested a lot of money in the discovery and development of technology and chooses the best partners for this purpose.

The rumors that placed this sports car in the Toyota GT-86 segment seem to have fallen to the ground, giving way to a completely different scenario and which should arouse even more curiosity in the world press in the near future. We are awaiting news of this partnership, which should arrive soon!
