To scare away the Dodge "demon", only this Camaro ZL1 "The Exorcist"

It's Hennessey's answer to Dodge. The American preparer presented its new power kit for the Camaro ZL1.

A few days before the start of the New York Salon and the presentation of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, we highlight another muscle car unveiled at the Houston Salon: the "The Exorcist" . It is a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 specially prepared by Hennessey to devour the times in the quarter mile (400 meters).

Although Hennessey didn't admit it, choosing the name “The Exorcist” for this mod pack doesn't seem innocent at all. Remember that Dodge is about to reveal its Challenger SRT Demon, which should be the “demonic” gift for dragstrips. Has the devil found his exorcist?

Returning to the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the main modifications fell on the 6.2 liter LT4 V8 engine (standard). New volumetric compressor, intercooler, intake system, and some tweaks on the camshaft and control unit et voila… 1 014 hp of power and 712 Nm of maximum torque directed to the rear axle.

To scare away the Dodge

Anyone who wants to opt for a 10-speed automatic transmission (instead of the standard 6-speed manual transmission) can do so.

As for performance, Hennessey guarantees that its «exorcist» will be able to break the three-second barrier on acceleration up to 60 mph (96 km/h). The quarter mile sprint takes less than 10 seconds.

All this power comes at a price. Hennessey will charge (in the US) $55,000 for this modification pack, producing 100 units per year. For an additional $8,995, customers will get competition tires with 20-inch wheels and a new driveshaft.
