Still, like any technology that is trying to implement in an established market, the Tesla Model S has to go through the arduous path of integration in the minds of four-wheel connoisseurs.
Comparisons between the Tesla Model S and other muscle cars show the incredible acceleration capacity of the California house's tram, however, luxury saloon buyers certainly don't just want to go on a drag-strip at the weekend show its tram breaking away from established ideas, that's why Tesla Motors decided to show that its tram is also capable of being a comfortable, reliable car and, above all, quick to recharge batteries.
The feat consisted of crossing the USA from coast to coast, that is, from Los Angeles to New York, which translates into a nice distance of 5,575.6 kilometers. To cover this distance, two Tesla Model S were used and side by side, amidst rain, snow and sandstorms, they accomplished their mission in 76.5 hours, with a team of drivers comprising 15 people. To recharge the batteries of the two luxury saloons, the fast charging network spread across the US was used, which can be used free of charge by the happy owners of the Tesla Model S.
This crossing showed that the 70 fast charging stations implemented by Tesla Motors in the American territory make it possible to travel from coast to coast and that, contrary to what was established, the charging of batteries is relatively fast, taking only 20 minutes to charge them in 50 %.
Taking into account that the two cars consumed 1 197.8 kWh to cover this distance and assuming some estimated values, the two vehicles saved something like 800 liters of fuel . And don't forget that the download is free.
