At first sight, a drag race between a Lamborghini Aventador SV and a Huracán Performante might seem like a bad idea. After all, the difference in power between the two models of the Italian brand makes it possible to foresee a race without much history. However, this video from CarWow proves that things might not be that simple.
But first let's get to the numbers. The Aventador SV, once the fastest model in the Lamborghini range until the appearance of the Aventador SVJ, presents itself with a V12 with 6.5 l naturally aspirated that delivers 750 hp and 690 Nm of torque , values that allow you to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8s and reach 350 km/h.
Huracán Performante, on the other hand, responds to his “older brother” with a Also naturally aspirated 5.2 l V10 that delivers 640 hp and 600 Nm of torque, being able to reach 325 km/h top speed and reach 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9s. But is it enough to “fight” Aventador SV?
The "duel of brothers"
Common to both Lamborghini models is the use of an all-wheel drive system, the presence of the launch control system and also the use of an automatic gearbox. Even so, despite the fact that both gearboxes have seven gears, the one used by the Huracán Performante is a dual clutch, unlike the Aventador SV, a semi-automatic with only one clutch.

The result of this drag race is unexpected. The Huracán Performante, in the two attempts made, does not give a chance to the most powerful Aventador SV. How is it possible?
The Huracán Performante weighs 143 kg less (difference between the declared dry weights), but the weight-to-power ratio still favors the Aventador SV slightly. The Huracán responds with a greater ability to obtain traction (something that the lower torque is not unrelated to), but perhaps the most determining factor for the clear victory of the Huracán Performante is its transmission.
