The first 100% electric car produced by Jaguar, the I-Pace, was introduced this week to the world in a live broadcast. The British brand's ambitions are high for the I-Pace, where the brand itself did not shy away from putting it to the test against the, until now, only electric SUV on the market, the Tesla Model X.

Before the start of the Formula E stage of the FIA championship, which takes place this weekend at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, the Jaguar I-Pace faced the Tesla Model X 75D and 100D in a drag-race of the 0 at 100 km/h and again at 0.

Panasonic Jaguar Racing team driver Mitch Evans was chosen for the wheel of the Jaguar I-Pace, showing the acceleration and braking power of the first pure electric Jaguar compared to the Tesla models, which were driven by the champion of the IndyCar Series, Tony Kanaan.

Jaguar I-Pace vs. Tesla Model X

In the first challenge, with the Tesla Model X 75D, the victory of the Jaguar I-Pace is undeniable. The protagonists repeat the challenge again, this time with a more powerful version of the Tesla model, but the Jaguar I-Pace is once again the winner.

The I-Pace has a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, thanks to the maximum power of 400 hp and all-wheel drive. Furthermore, it combines sporty performance with a range of 480 km (on the WLTP cycle) and a recharge time of up to 80% in 40 minutes, with a fast 100 kW direct current charger.
