A British company specializing in the manufacture and transformation of bodywork decided to make what even Tesla didn't think to do: a Model S van. And this one, huh?...

The transformation of the American electric saloon took place, according to Autocar, following an express request from a customer. Which — imagine! — needed more space to transport his dogs. The bodybuilder, Qwest, has been working on this challenge for over a year.

As Qwest also reveals, which has been working on the project for over a year, the entire rear area of ​​the Model S was redone in carbon fiber, by another company specializing in this type of work. And that even usually produces components for Formula 1 cars.

Once completed, the new bodywork component was then joined to the Model S's aluminum chassis.

The British company that took on the challenge of transforming the North American saloon foresees that it can deliver the first and only Model S van in the world, in time for the next Christmas season. At the moment, it is only awaiting the supply of the respective glass surfaces, from the well-known supplier Pilkington. The bodywork, on the other hand, should go on to the painting stage this week.

At the same time, although not providing any data on aerodynamics or performance, Qwest has already set out to make this Model S Estate the fastest van in the world in terms of acceleration. Something that, remember, will only be a reality if the model is able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds – a mark set by the recently presented Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S E-Hybrid.

Equally important is the price this Model S owner will pay for this transformation. Because, according to the company responsible for carrying out the project, it will cost around 70 thousand pounds, close to 78 thousand euros. This, of course, excluding the amount paid for the car.
