On sale in Portugal since November, the arrival of a new year has brought new prices and new IUC values to the Peugeot 508 . Furthermore, with the arrival of the WLTP, the French top-of-the-range saw its announced CO2 emission figures increase.
Made based on the EMP2 platform (the same as the 308 and 3008), the Peugeot 508 it left behind the typical D-segment saloon look and took on a two-and-a-half, five-door silhouette with coupe outlines. Thus, in addition to adopting unframed windows and having seen the bodywork become 5 cm lower than its predecessor, the 508 also adopted a fastback-shaped rear.
Inside, the 508 features the usual i-Cockpit, here in its latest interpretation. This is marked by the small steering wheel and two screens: an 8″ or 10″ touchscreen that concentrates the infotainment functions and another that serves as an instrument panel and measures 12.3″.

In Portugal, the Peugeot 508 has a range comprising five engines (two petrol and three Diesel), two transmissions (six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic (EAT8) and five equipment levels: Active, Allure, GT Line, GT and Business Line.

In the range of engines to Gasoline we have the Turbo 1.6 PureTech four-cylinder in-line, in two versions with 180 and 225 hp, always with the EAT8 box. In the engine range Diesel , we have the 1.5 BlueHDI with 130 hp, the only one to receive the manual gearbox (it will also be available with the EAT8 automatic transmission) and the 2.0 BlueHDI, in two 160 and 180 hp versions, both associated with the EAT8 automatic transmission.
Equipment is not lacking
As you would expect, being the top of the range from Peugeot , the 508 has a wide range of equipment, even at the access levels in the range.
Thus, at the Active level, the Safety Pack (It has Active Safety Brake, Distance Alert, active warning of involuntary crossing of lines and shoulders, recognition of speed signals) o Visibility Pack (automatic switching on of the headlights (dipped beam) with automatic follow-me-home, front window wiper with rain sensor and photosensitive interior mirror) and also the two-zone air conditioning, with ventilation outlet for the rear seats and cruise control.
Allure, GT-Line and GT versions have the Safety Plus Pack , which adds to the Safety Pack the active blind spot surveillance system, the fatigue detection system, automatic high beam assist and the extended recognition of traffic signs.
The GT Line level can also receive, as an option, the Pack Drive Assist with adaptive cruise control and the Drive Assist Plus Pack , which integrates adaptive cruise control with Stop&Go function associated with the Lane Positioning Assist, the latter also available as an option for the GT.
The Peugeot Full LED Technology, which integrates Full LED headlamps with automatic height correction, LED turning lights, static turning lights and adaptive 3D headlamps, comes as an option on the Allure and comes as standard on both the GT Line and the GT.
Prices
Peugeot 508 prices in 2019 start at 35 300 euros orders for the 508 Active equipped with the 1.5 BlueHDi and manual box going up to 52,000 euros which costs the high-end version, the 508 GT equipped with the 2.0 BlueHDi 180 hp and EAT8 automatic transmission.
