Cold Start. Temperature sensitive paint? Yes there is and the result is fascinating

Like the Mitsubishi Lancer with its peculiar black paintwork, this one too Audi A4 with a temperature sensitive paint is the work of the YouTube channel DipYourCar.

Inspired by the famous “mood rings” (which supposedly change color depending on our mood), this Audi A4 uses thermotropic liquid crystals that produce different colors at various temperatures.

Thanks to these, the paintwork on this Audi A4 changes color as we touch the bodywork. In total, after a base coat of plastidip was applied, eight coats of this special paint were applied.

Although the end result is impressive, DipYourCar's Fonzie stated that this is just a test, as for long-term, regular use it would be necessary to apply a layer of sealant to this temperature-sensitive paint to protect it from normal wear and tear.
