Launched, in its current generation, in 2015, the Suzuki Vitara , nowadays transformed into a crossover and not so much an all-terrain, starts by receiving, with the update now announced, a new front. Embodied in a new front grille, redesigned headlights and a redesigned bumper, with a generous gray front section.
New is also the design of the wheels, the taillights — from now on with LED technology — and two new exterior colours.
Moving to the interior of the cabin, emphasis is placed on the increase in the quality of the coatings, while the instrument panel now has a new digital color screen in the center.
More modern engines and new technologies
Even more important than the aesthetic changes are the evolutions registered at the level of the engines. With the Vitara replacing the already old 1.6 atmospheric 120 hp gasoline, for the more modern 1.0 Turbo with 111 hp — already known from the Swift —, while keeping the well-known 1.4 Turbo with 140 hp. Everything, of course, with gasoline, and with the possibility of having all-wheel drive, from the intermediate version.
In terms of technologies, emphasis is placed on the introduction of solutions that already exist in some rivals, such as the warning of involuntary departure from the carriageway with automatic trajectory correction, recognition of traffic signs and blind spot monitoring. All in order, as he insists on highlighting the Hamamatsu brand, to offer “the most technologically advanced Suzuki ever”.
Sales start in September
Presented as an update for 2019, the renewed Suzuki Vitara, however, hits the market later this year. More precisely, in September, and for prices yet to be discovered.
