Unveiled a few months ago, the Q5 Sportback can already be ordered, and is expected to hit the market in the first half of 2021. At the same time, the German brand released the first images of the new Audi SQ5 Sportback TDI.
Compared to its “normal” brothers, the SQ5 Sportback TDI has a more aggressive and sporty look, courtesy of elements such as the differentiated grille or the double exhaust outlet.
Inside, what is, for now, the sportiest of the Q5 Sportback, has several “S” logos, decoration in black or dark gray and other sportier details.
The engine? diesel of course
While the Audi SQ7 and SQ8 have already “made their peace” with gasoline engines, the Audi SQ5 Sportback TDI remains — like the SQ5 — faithful to diesel engines.

Thus, the German SUV-Coupé is equipped with a 3.0 TDI V6 that is associated with a mild-hybrid 48V system. With 341 hp and 700 Nm, it is coupled to an eight-speed automatic tiptronic transmission and sends its power to all four wheels through the quattro system.
The result is 250 km/h top speed (limited) and a time from 0 to 100 km/h of just 5.1s. All this in a model that, thanks to the mild-hybrid system, can recover up to 8 kW in deceleration and can “go sailing” for 40s with the energy stored in a small lithium-ion battery.
In the dynamic chapter, the SQ5 Sportback TDI has an S sport suspension that reduces the height to the ground by 30 mm and is equipped as standard with 20" wheels and 255/45 tires (the wheels can be 21" as an option. ).
Now available for order, the price of the Audi SQ5 Sportback TDI in Portugal remains to be revealed, as well as its arrival date on our market.
