Cold Start. Looking for a new engine? There is a Ferrari F40 for sale

Anonim

After a few months ago we found the Ferrari LaFerrari V12 engine on sale for the second (!) time, today we found the engine of a Ferrari F40 being auctioned.

Announced on collectingcars.com, the famous 2.9L, V8, biturbo with 478hp and 577Nm is available for bidding until tomorrow.

Contrary to what you would expect, this engine has never been installed in a Ferrari F40. Instead it was a replacement engine that was eventually used by a Japanese team for testing, having accumulated around 1000 km in that condition.

Since retiring from these functions, the engine has been idle, meaning it has been inactive for about 25 years, and is currently in Copenhagen, Denmark.

At the moment, the highest bid is at 51,000 pounds (about 56,500 euros). Those who buy this Ferrari F40 engine will also receive the exhaust manifolds and intercoolers. Interestingly, the ad makes no reference to… turbos. And you, do you think it's a good deal?
