Covid-19. Ford creates new translucent mask and air filtration kit

Anonim

Already involved in fighting the pandemic by producing fans and protective masks, Ford has now developed a translucent mask and an air filtration kit.

Starting with the mask, this is the N95 style (in other words, specially designed for hospital use and with a filtering efficiency of 95%) and its main novelty is the fact that it is translucent.

Thanks to this fact, this mask not only allows for a more pleasant social interaction (after all, it lets us see each other's smiles) but is also an asset for people with hearing problems, who can read the lips of people with hearing problems. who speak.

As you can see, the mask created by Ford allows us to see each other's smiles again.

Still waiting to be patented, this new translucent mask from Ford continues to be tested to confirm its effectiveness, with its release scheduled for spring.

Simple but effective

As for the air filtration kit, this was designed as a complement to the filtration systems already existing in any room.

Extremely simple, they consist of a cardboard base, a 20” fan and an air filter. Its assembly is quite easy and basically consists of placing the fan above the filter on the cardboard base.

Of course, its effectiveness depends on the size of the space where it is installed. According to Ford, in a room measuring 89.2 m2, two of these kits allow "triple air changes per hour compared to what a common filtration system could do on its own, renewing the air 4.5 times per hour".

In total, Ford intends to donate around 20 thousand air filtration kits and more than 20 million translucent masks (the North American brand has already donated 100 million masks).
