Charging a plug-in electric or hybrid car at a service station on the Mobi.E network became more expensive as of May 1st, when Mobi.e started charging market agents a fee as the Management Entity of the Electric Mobility Network (EGME).
Regardless of the power and charging time, a fee of 16.57 cents will always be applied to charging point operators (OPC) and electricity suppliers for electric mobility (CEME).
Accounts made, for users, this translates into an increase of 33.1 cents for each charge made at one of the more than 1650 public charging stations managed by Mobi.E.
This fee had already been provided for since charges at public payphones began to be paid, but it is only now being charged.
According to the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE), "these tariffs will represent between 4% and 8% of the final price paid by UVE" and will be "incorporated into the final price paid by users of electric vehicles that use the electric mobility network ”.
Quoted by Dinheiro Vivo, Luís Barroso, president of Mobi.E, recalls that this contribution was defined by the energy regulator (ERSE) but only opens the door to changes “if the perception of users and market agents is confirmed”.
Speaking to the aforementioned publication, Henrique Sánchez, leader of the UVE association, reveals that "the application of the fee should be made for the energy consumed and not for a fixed amount" and recalls that "whoever carries more must pay proportionally, so as not to harm the users with less charging capacity in their electric vehicle”.
