First glimpse of the successor to the Koenigsegg Agera RS

Anonim

THE Koenigsegg Agera RS it is currently the fastest car on the planet. The Agera RS went out of production this year, only 25 units were built — 26 if you count one unit that was destroyed by the brand's test pilot — and gloriously broke five speed records, one of which has been held for a long time. 79 years old.

Koenigsegg has already confirmed a successor to Agera, with a public presentation next March, in 2019, during the Geneva Motor Show, and production is scheduled to start in 2020. The mission will certainly not be easy. After all, we are talking about a successor to the fastest car in the world.

Why this revelation in Australia?

There are only two Koenigsegg on the island-continent — a CCR in black and a CCX in orange — which were on display during the inauguration of the brand's new official space for representation in Australia, in a partnership between them, the importer Prodigy Automotive and luxury car distributor Lorbek Luxury Cars.

As the brand only officially arrives in Australia this year, potential Australian customers have already lost the possibility of purchasing the new Swedish “monster”, the Regera — production is already fully allocated.

To captivate potentials and customers, and — we think — justify the existence of these facilities, the Swedish brand ended up revealing a sketch of the hyper-sport that will take the place of the Koenigsegg Agera RS, the first model of the brand that Australians will be able to officially purchase.

Unfortunately it's not very revealing, but we can discern a generous rear wing and rear diffuser, as well as the shape of the rear optics. From what little is known, only that the future supersport will have removable roof panels and dihedral opening doors. As, indeed, the other models of the brand.

Will it be hybrid like the Regera? Will keep the V8 twin turbo? Will it try to reach 300 miles per hour? We can only wait...
