Ford Ecosport Active. An (even) more adventurous EcoSport is coming

After the Fiesta, Focus, Transit, Tourneo and the now-defunct KA+, Ford's Active “family” is getting ready to welcome another model: the Ford EcoSport.

True, adventurous by nature (or wasn't it an SUV), the Ford EcoSport is getting ready to gain an even more… adventurous version.

Scheduled for presentation on November 6, little is known about the new Ford EcoSport Active, with the North American brand having limited itself to revealing a teaser on its Twitter account.

In this one we not only see the “Active” logo, but we can confirm that one of the novelties will be the addition of plastic body protections, something that we have already seen happening in the other models of the brand that received this adventurous variant.

What else will there be?

If in the cases of Fiesta and Focus Active this version brought an increase in ground clearance, in EcoSport Active it is unlikely that this will happen. After all, Ford's SUV is nothing short of this chapter, being even already one of the B-SUV with greater aptitude to walk in bad ways.

That said, it is possible that the arrival of an Active variant to the EcoSport range will bring with it the “Slippery” and “Trails” driving modes already present in the Focus Active. Less likely is that Ford's SUV will once again have all-wheel drive as it did in the past.

In a statement that has since been released, Roelant de Waard, vice president of Marketing, Sales and Services, Ford of Europe, limited himself to saying: “The EcoSport Active will be a new addition to the Active range and will offer extra capabilities and adventurous styling to customers who want to take adventures to another level.”
