Range Rover returns to its origins with new and exclusive SV Coupé

After creating the luxury SUV segment nearly 50 years ago, Land Rover is now looking to define a new sub-segment, with the launch of the Range Rover SV Coupe — and it really only has two doors — an oversized luxury SUV.

Created by Land Rover Design and the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, the SV Coupé bets on a series of exclusive exterior details, of which it is worth noting, for example, the fact that it is the first model in the Range Rover family to be able to attach some optional (and giant!) 23-inch wheels.

Inside, a declared (and natural) bet on extreme luxury, with handcrafted finishes standing out in an interior that advertises itself as sumptuous. Thanks, among other factors, to the application of semi-aniline leather on all seats. Thus elevating the premium interior to levels comparable to those found on a private plane or yacht.

Produced manually and to order, the future owner will be able to select one of four finishes for the interior, which can be complemented with one of three types of wood. In addition to that, an innovative Nautical finish for the cabin and a no less unusual Liquesence finish, reminiscent of liquid metal, for the bodywork.

The Fastest Oversized Range Rover Ever

Along with a truly endless number of customization solutions, the Range Rover SV Coupé is also the fastest large Range Rover ever, thanks to the 5.0 liter supercharged gasoline V8 with 565 hp and 700 Nm of torque . Which is coupled to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, in addition to reaching a top speed of 266 km/h.

Also as a way of responding to the engine's enormous capacities, ensuring greater efficiency, the maintenance of permanent all-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer box, an active rear differential, new suspension calibration and a lowered 8 mm height to the ground. But that can, thanks to the inclusion of an electronic air suspension, can automatically reach 15 mm when at speeds above 105 km/h.

Also available are the following pre-defined usage modes: Access Height (50mm below standard ground height), Off-Road Height 1 (up to 40mm above standard height and up to a speed of 80 km/h), Off-Road Height 2 (up to 75 mm above standard height and up to 50 km/h). It is also possible to lift up to an additional 30 or 40 mm, manually.

The addition of the Terrain Response 2 System makes it possible to maintain the well-known offroad capabilities, including a maximum ford passing capacity of 900 mm and a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.
