The Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution, a racing prototype initially developed to participate in the 1996 24 Hours of Le Mans, sold for 2.77 million euros.

For homologation reasons, the German sports car also had a “road legal” version, dubbed the Straßenversion (in German, “road version”). The model in question is the only Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution that has been officially legalized to be able to walk freely on the road. By the way, this was also one of the most successful GT1’s ever, with 3 successive victories (between 1999 and 2001) in the Canadian GT trophy.

Equipped with a powerful 3.2-litre atmospheric flat-six engine with 600hp of power, the high demands of the competition forced Porsche to waste hours in the wind tunnel, as can be seen from the large rear wing and other aerodynamic appendages. Nothing has been left to chance.
