Porsche has just unveiled the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept. Model that offers us some clues about the next generation of the brand's 1st saloon.
Unlike a few years ago, today's fans of the Stuttgart brand no longer speak up when the launch of a new Porsche model other than a 911 is announced. broader range of models not only hasn't lost the entity, it's better. Both financially and technologically, because now there is more money available for the R&D department.
Porsche's latest bet is a shooting-break – based on the future generation of the Panamera – which the brand calls the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept.
Despite the «shooting-break» format, don't think that this Panamera is bigger than the saloon version. It's 17mm shorter, 61mm wider and 20mm shorter. Thus predoing 1,990mm in width, 4,950mm in length and 1,401mm in height. The result is a more harmonious design with more balanced proportions. Because truth be told, the current Panamera from some angles looks like a plump “toad”.
Inside, although in the form of a «concept», we can guess the main lines that will dictate the characteristics of the interior in the production model. And all over the body we could find common stylistic marks with the brand new 918 Spyder and Boxter.
Under the hood we find a V6 engine with 3000cc and 330hp of maximum power associated with an electric motor with 90hp of power, for a total of 420hp of combined power. The brand also claims that this Panamera can roll in fully electric mode up to 130km/h for 30km. And it announces a consumption of below 3.5liters/100km in hybrid mode with the batteries charged. Promising isn't it?
