In the name of the good old days...

We are nostalgic. We confess!

Even though he accepts with an “open heart” everything that the present and future of motorsport has to offer – more performance, more safety, more technology – the truth is that it's impossible not to get nostalgic in front of the classics.

In the transition between yesterday's competition and today's competition, you hear something that was lost… a romantic aura. Maybe a little purity and simplicity. The perfect symbiosis between man and machine was broken.

NOT TO BE MISSED: My first time behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7

This marriage I'm talking about today has a conjugal mediator: an electronic device (or several…) putting the spoon between “man and woman”. And everyone knows you can't do that. As in weddings, where an argument from time to time spices things up, in cars too, a “burnt” start or braking can have the same effect.

But let's not deviate from the subject… The fact is that in the past there was more “life” in racing.

Mechanics with tools in hand, children running in the racing padock, drivers smoking a cigarette before putting their helmets on their heads and facing the ultimate challenge. The smell of gasoline! Today it all seems more… artificial.

Don't see this as an apology for returning to the past. It's wonder. Just that.

So, in the name of the good old days, join us on this journey into the past:
