Manny Khoshbin is one of the best known collectors in the United States and he has some exceptional copies in his garage.
But anyone who follows Khoshbin knows that the businessman of Iranian origins has a refined taste and a particular appeal for exclusive versions, many of them made just for him.
Although he recently received a McLaren Speedtail decorated by Hermès, Khoshbin does not hide his admiration for Bugatti and it was precisely in partnership with the French brand that he “created” one of the cars he is most proud of.
We are talking about the Bugatti Chiron Hermès Edition, a one-off created for Khoshbin that celebrates two French luxury brands, Bugatti and Hermès.
“I'm a real Bugatti fan — I wanted to call my son Ettore but my wife didn't agree. When I first saw Chiron in 2015, I was one of the first customers in the world to book a copy, but I was one of the last to receive it, but the reason for that is just me,” explained Khoshbin.
The collaboration between the three parties started in 2016, after Khoshbin made a declaration of intent to buy a Chiron in 2015. The process took three years to complete and this Chiron only reached Khoshbin in late 2019.
“The order for this special Chiron involved two visits to Hermès in Paris to discuss the design, the realization of the interior and to follow the progress that was being made. Between me, the Hermès team and the Bugatti designers, we exchanged hundreds of e-mails”, added the businessman.
Now, a year and a half later, the French brand based in Molsheim has returned to recover this unique copy and used the history of Khoshbin to show, once again, that nothing is impossible when creating the true pinnacle of luxury.
“It took me my time to imagine this car, but it was a conscious decision — this is a car that I will one day pass on to my son, it will exist for generations. I am truly grateful to the teams at Bugatti and Hermès for making this possible,” said Khoshbin, whose car collection already includes three of the brand's models based in Alsace.
“I have three Bugatti models in my collection and there will soon be a fourth. There's this one, two Veyrons and a Grand Sport Vitesse ‘Les Légendes de Bugatti’ Rembrandt Bugatti”, threw Khosbin, who recently, in one of his videos for YouTube, expressed interest in buying a Chiron Pur Sport.
Neither Bugatti nor Manny Khoshbin reveal how much this Bugatti Chiron Edition Hermès cost. But if we think that this is a unique example in the world and that the price of a “conventional” Chiron is around 2.5 million euros, it is not difficult to speculate on the final “number”.
And after this exercise in imagination, we return to the title of this article: for Bugatti there are no impossible dreams. Just pay.
